Tropical Carpenter Bee In Ornate Bronze Frame On White Lace Framed Insect.
Tropical Carpenter Bee. These are common in Southeast Asia. I found this one, deceased, and carried it back to the US with me on a plane. I am dedicated, indeed!
The bug has been strengthened with varnish, and the wing colors, slightly enhanced.
He's mounted in a bronze-colored, swirly ornate frame. The background is a piece of vintage lace.
This could be hung in the wall with the correct hardware, but it's currently living inside a kickstand frame. So it'll look lovely on a table or bookshelf.
The frame measures 3 & 1/8," squared.
